I was flipping through some stuff in school and came across this quote. It is a very good quote, especially in times like this, when we're preparing for a competition.

"It is not about the will to win, but about the will to work towards winning."

No doubt about it. There are more and more foreigners in Singapore now. From white collar workers to unskilled labour. We have them amongst us. In fact, we need them in Singapore, to aid in our blooming economy. However, are they affecting the image of our society?

Perhaps this is the way things are back in their home country. But littering, spitting, shouting in public areas are looked down upon over here in Singapore. Yes, I agree, there are Singaporeans doing the exact same things as them. Shouting into their handphones, spitting everywhere, littering. But there spitting onto MRT tracks? Shouting even when the other party is just less than a meter away? Pushing and shoving when boarding public buses?

Let's take the last example. The bus is full to its brim. The passengers are packed like sardines. It's smelly and stuffy. And you have wonderful foreigners pushing and shoving at the front door. Trying to get a limb onto the bus. This leads you to visualise overcrowded buses in bollywood movies whereby they are people hanging out from windows and people clinging onto the roofs. However, this is Singapore. Shouldn't something be done about it? And the poor bus driver is over there, trying desperately to tell them to wait for the next bus. All this, is however, a waste of saliva as they (foreign construction workers) apparently do not understand english.

Sigh, that is also one of a reason I'm looking forward to getting my own transport. Beats wasting my life to wait for those foreigners to finally realise that they cannot cling to the bus like monkeys in Singapore.

18th birthday, here I come.

Was on my way home from training. Then this plump guy came up to me and started rattling non-stop. He was talking really fast and looked scared.

He told me that he's from Malaysia and have been in Singapore for only 2 weeks. He was sent to Bukit Batok by his company to check his teeth. (He pointed to a gap where the front teeth is supposed to be) He had lost his wallet and everything inside. Then he walked all the way from Bukit Batok to here (Choa Chu Kang). His passport, IC everything is back at his hostel in Serangoon. He lost his way and is scared and needs help.

Out of kind-heartedness, I told him to calm down and repeat himself again. Then he repeated again in that ultra fast manner with his hands waving around frantically. And he looked really really scared. His eyes were even teary!

"Do you know how to take the MRT back to ur Serangoon hostel?"
"Yes, but I don't have any money."
"I only have $1 on me now, you can walk straight and go to the station and look for help there."
"Nvm then, *sigh* I still can't find help."

He is a very good actor. Like really really good. Can join mediacorp! If it was some aunties, he would have became rich.

How I know he's a scammer.
1) Malaysian've been only to Singapore for 2 weeks has no Malaysian Accent?
2) Refused to go to the MRT station to ask for help
3) Ignored an uncle in front and came to me, a teenager, for help
4) Mood changed when I told him I only got a buck
5) Workers' Hostel in Serangoon and company send him across the island to Bukit Batok for teeth check-up?

Lesson for others, if any stranger come to you nervously, timidly, fiercely, anything. Always stay calm and think. (:

Naughty me didn't go for morning class today. Woke up late. No one gave me morning call to wake me up. So poor thing right. Sigh. Met up with half of the class for lunch. We had pizza.

My Hawaiian Pizza

Student's Meal, $6.50
Soup
Pizza
Drink

Lousy meal. The pizza was not bad. But the whole meal wasn't filling at all. Prince's student meal beat Pizza Hut's anyday!

Prince's Student Meal, $6
Soup
2 pieces toasted garlic bread
Choice of main course (chicken chop, pork chop, fish & chips etc)
Drink

Moreoever, Prince's soup = thick creamy but doesn't taste like campbell soup. Pizza Hut's soup = watery, sucky.

Therefore, Prince > Pizza Hut

We had Environmental Chemistry Analysis Practical on monday. Snapped a picture during class (: The equipment we using is like... I don't know. Makes secondary school stuff look like stone age. Hahaha.

Mr Eng demostrating... (I think he's called Mr Eng. I'm not sure cos we always call him young man)

Today we had to go for a talk by ex-students at LT 50. Then, I discovered a nice place to chill and hang behind LT 50. But there's nothing but ants... And it's far away from our usual class =[

Isn't the place nice?

After that, Gary, Liwen and I went for sports camp GL training. It was much better compared to the first training. xD

GLs OEI!

BE Society organized blading event at East Coast today.

Present- Kelvin, Li Wen, Gary, Li Qiand and yours truly. The start was really slow and draggy cos of the lousy rain. Then saw some *ahem* people who turned me off. Like totally spoil my morning. Anyway, the mood did picked up when we finally started and after the event when we went for our long distance.

From left. LiQiang, Gary, Kelvin(half squatting) Me, LiWen

Boy, how long have we not did long distance. I've no idea =\ anyway, it was fun overall. After everything, Gary and I had tulang at the Marine Parade hawker. I tell you, eating tulang, makes you tu lan lo!

Ok, tulang is the joint already of the goat/lamb. What we had was the knee part I think. People usually eat tulang for the bone marrow. So Gary and I were trying our best to suck out the bone marrow. TO NO AVAIL. Then we got very tu lan. Then Gary went to ask the uncle.

"How to eat ah?"
"Vari easy la! Use straw!"

ALAMARK! The answer itself can make people tu lan lo. Wth. So we were using straw to suck out the bone marrow. Hahahaha. Sounds gross. But it's actually quite delicious (:

What's left after we ate the tulang.
