Sunday, November 18, 2007 Was on my way home from training. Then this plump guy came up to me and started rattling non-stop. He was talking really fast and looked scared. He told me that he's from Malaysia and have been in Singapore for only 2 weeks. He was sent to Bukit Batok by his company to check his teeth. (He pointed to a gap where the front teeth is supposed to be) He had lost his wallet and everything inside. Then he walked all the way from Bukit Batok to here (Choa Chu Kang). His passport, IC everything is back at his hostel in Serangoon. He lost his way and is scared and needs help. Out of kind-heartedness, I told him to calm down and repeat himself again. Then he repeated again in that ultra fast manner with his hands waving around frantically. And he looked really really scared. His eyes were even teary! "Do you know how to take the MRT back to ur Serangoon hostel?" "Yes, but I don't have any money." "I only have $1 on me now, you can walk straight and go to the station and look for help there." "Nvm then, *sigh* I still can't find help." He is a very good actor. Like really really good. Can join mediacorp! If it was some aunties, he would have became rich. How I know he's a scammer. 1) Malaysian've been only to Singapore for 2 weeks has no Malaysian Accent? 2) Refused to go to the MRT station to ask for help 3) Ignored an uncle in front and came to me, a teenager, for help 4) Mood changed when I told him I only got a buck 5) Workers' Hostel in Serangoon and company send him across the island to Bukit Batok for teeth check-up? Lesson for others, if any stranger come to you nervously, timidly, fiercely, anything. Always stay calm and think. (: posted at10:48 PM |
